Responsibilities of RoadLamp Limited Graduate Trainee
RoadLamp Limited Graduate Trainee will:
1. Support the Finance team with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
2. Assist with the analysis of financial information and company performance
3. Support in preparing financial reports and management summaries
4. Learn to interpret financial data and provide basic insights under supervision
5. Support in monitoring departmental and project budgets
6. Assist in the preparation of budget variance reports
7. Assist in identifying significant variances and escalating them to the appropriate supervisor
8. Acquire practical knowledge of budget preparation and financial resource management
9. Support in the preparation of financial statements and periodic financial reports
10. Assist with the recording and processing of financial transactions
11. Assist with account reconciliations and verification of financial records
12. Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation
13. Assist the Finance team in ensuring timely and accurate reporting
14. Assist in monitoring daily cash inflows and outflows
15. Support the preparation and updating of cash flow reports
16. Support the monitoring of receivables and payables
17. Assist with payment processing and documentation in line with company procedures
18. Receive practical exposure to working capital and cash management activities
19. Support in ensuring financial transactions comply with company policies and procedures
20. Support the maintenance of proper financial records and documentation
21. Assist with internal and external audit requirements
22. Learn and apply basic financial controls designed to safeguard company assets
23. Escalate identified discrepancies or irregularities to the appropriate supervisor
24. Support with daily activities within the Finance and Accounts department
25. Assist the Finance team with data entry, filing, documentation, and record keeping
26. Assist with invoice verification, expense documentation, and account reconciliations
27. Engage in finance-related projects and assignments as required
28. Perform other duties assigned by the Finance Manager or designated supervisor
Requirements for RoadLamp Limited Graduate Trainee Program
Candidates applying for RoadLamp Limited Graduate Trainee Program must:
1. Have a B.Sc. or HND (Upper Credit or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
2. Have zero to one year of relevant work experience
3. Have basic understanding of accounting and financial principles
4. Have a good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
5. Have strong numerical and analytical skills
6. Have good attention to detail and accuracy
7. Have good communication and interpersonal skills
8. Be willing to learn and develop professionally
9. Have the ability to work effectively within a team
10. Have good organizational and time-management skills
11. Have the ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly
12. Have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
13. Be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
14. High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism
Candidates with relevant internship, Industrial Training (IT), NYSC, entry-level finance experience, previous exposure to the Oil & Gas industry or familiar with accounting software have an added advantage.
Candidates with ICAN, ACA, ACCA, or other relevant professional qualifications/certifications in progress have an advantage although this qualification is not compulsory.
