According to Npower News on the federal government grant today 2nd May 2024, the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (Dr) Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite has said that as a result of several questions and inquiries about the Federal Government Grant, the ministry have compiled a list of frequently asked questions to clear the air concerning matters around the federal government grant. 

According to Npower News, Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite said many applicants that applied for the federal government grant have already received their federal government grants, the minister said for those applicants waiting for the federal government grant, they are "to please hold tight."

According to Npower News, the minister said that the federal government grant is ongoing and done in batches and the federal government grant disbursement is yet to be completed. According to the Minister all remaining successful applicants for the federal government grant will receive their federal government grant between now and the end of May that is within a timeframe of four weeks. The Minister said that applicants that applied for the federal government grant are not to do anything for now, but to exercise patience.

The Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (Dr) Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite said those individuals who missed out on the federal government grant, may qualify for a single digit interest loan. She said applications for the federal government loan are still ongoing at http://fedgrantandloan.gov.ng

The Minster said, the FAQ below will address most of the other issues and concerns that have been raised by applicants regarding the federal government grant.

Npower News: EFCC Recovers $24,000,000 In The Investigation of Betta Edu

According to Npower News, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has recovered ₦30,000,000,000 that is $24,000,000 and its equivalent in pounds that is £19,000,000 as part of its ongoing investigation on matters of corruption surrounding the suspended minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Betta Edu.

According to EFCC the monies were linked to more than fifty bank accounts.

Betta Edu the suspended Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation was relieved of her duties as Minister in January over the alleged transfer of $640,000 meant for the poor and vulnerable groups into a private bank account, this led to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu directing a thorough investigation into Betta Edu's ministry.

According to Npower News, the office of Betta Edu said Betta Edu had authorized the transfer into a private account, which was not in her name, but said it was for the "implementation of grants to vulnerable groups".

The anti-graft agency, EFCC, said during its nearly 6 weeks of investigation so far, it had found "many angles" to investigate.

"As it is now, we are investigating over 50 bank accounts that we have traced money into. That is no child's play. That's a big deal," the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission chairman Ola Olukoyede said.

Ola Olukoyede pleaded with Nigerians especially beneficiaries of Npower and other National Social Investment Programmes, seeking redress to give the anti-graft agency time to conclude its investigations thoroughly.

"We are exploring so many discoveries that we have stumbled upon in our investigation. If it is about seeing people in jail, well let them wait, everything has a process to follow," Ola Olukoyede said.

Ola Olukoyede gave an assurance that the recovered monies were "already in the coffers of the federal government".

Suspension of a minister does not happen often in Nigeria.

Npower Batch C Stream 2 Payment Date

According to Npower News, Npower batch c stream 2 payment will commence when the suspended Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Betta Edu concludes her investigation with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), npower batch c stream 2 payment date cannot be fixed when the ministry for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation is being investigated. All matters regarding the National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA) including Npower has been suspended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu indefinitely and the suspension of Npower will be lifted only after all investigations in the NSIPA and the ministry for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation is concluded.

According to Npower News, Ms. Halima Shehu and Betta Edu was suspended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for misappropriation of public funds meant for the poor and vulnerable groups, Betta Edu requested for a huge sum amounting to ₦585,000,000 to be transferred to a personal account against the constitution of the federal government of Nigeria.
