NPower Kebbi State Governor Approves Free Registration For NPower Applicants

The Kebbi Governor, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, has approved the beginning of free registration for the Federal Government’s N-Power programme, for the unemployed youth in the state.

Dr. Abba Sani-Kalgo, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, made this known on Sunday in Birnin Kebbi.

He said that the free N-Power registration programme would start on July 6, at all designated centres in all the local government areas and four emirate headquarters of the state.

Sani-Kalgo noted that the applicants from Birnin Kebbi would be registered at the Emir of Gwandu’s Palace, Alhaji Muhammadu Bashar, and the ICT Centre of the Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi.

“Kebbi’s Ministry of Budget and Planning is calling on the youth interested in the government’s N-Power programme to hurry up and come for free registration and additional information on the programme at the centres provided throughout the state.

“The registration is to start on July 6, 2020, throughout the centres provided.

“Interested youth are to come with their BVN document and valid Identity Card.

“They are also requested to come along with the original copies of their certificates and other required documents for capturing and subsequent forwarding, via the internet, to the N-Power Programme headquarters,” Sani-Kalgo said.

He urged all those coming for the registration to wear their face masks, maintain social and physical distancing at the registration centres.

The commissioner called on the applicants to take advantage of this golden opportunity to get registered for the programme.

He thanked the state governor for his sustained invaluable support to the ministry to carry out the exercise free of charge for the applicants.

“Because of his concern for the development and empowerment of the youth in the state the governor directed that the exercise be carried out free of charge throughout the state,” the commissioner said.

Kwara NPower Beneficiaries Condemn Disengagement

Beneficiaries of the federal government youth empowerment programme, N-Power scheme, in Kwara state have appealed to President Mohammadu Buhari and the National Assembly, among other stakeholders to have a rethink on their sudden disengagement and provide them with a permanent job.

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin on Tuesday, the N-Power beneficiaries, led by the state coordinator/chairman, Comrade Bello Mubarak Salau, described their disengagement as ill-timed and expressed displeasure on time of their disengagement, “without suitable modalities for the transition of the beneficiaries even when we are confronted with the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic”.

The people also called on Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara state to engage them in such areas like teaching, healthcare delivery, tax and agriculture for the development of the state.

“We must understand that disengaging this set of youths at a time such as this is ill-timed most importantly when there seem to be no modalities put in place to keep this trained youths into gainful employment.

“Throwing these youths back to the streets at a time we are faced with a pandemic will only skyrocket the number of infected people in the country because of their running up and down in search of food.

We sincerely appeal to the ministry in charge of Npower scheme to look into the issue of Npower device for batch ‘B’ beneficiaries who are yet to receive their devices as promised by the federal government of Nigeria. The payment of the devices was said to be approved since 2018, but nobody is answering query to its non- existence. It is achievable and we believe that the needful would be done as soon as possible.

We implore the federal government to save the country from the impending disaster that may spring up from disengaging such capacity of trained youths back to the street particularly at a time such as this with all the harsh economic realities as a result of this pandemic.

“We Appreciate the federal government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari for the creation of a transparent and life touching empowerment programme (N-power) which has empowered gainfully 500,000 Nigerian Youths within the last four years as batch A and B of the scheme, this has tremendously helped to engage the youths into productiveness and contributing to the growth and development of our dear country Nigeria. This has also helped to reduce the rate of crimes and criminality for as it’s said, an idle mind is the devil’s workshop. We pray that the government may not need to borrow more money in tackling insecurity if it can’t borrow such money to fix up its youths.

We advise all the Npower beneficiaries to exercise patience and be hopeful that there would be a golden light at the end of this tunnel.

Our wishes

Provide permanent jobs for the capacity which the government can cater to and support others to create jobs and be employers of labour which government can also rely on.

Make available the devices of all batches A & B who are due for collection

Set up a powerful monitoring team on this set of youths on till they are able to change the fortune of our country.

Use the well trained and structured beneficiaries to subdue pressure of insecurity in our country in a way of community watch, expose and reward syndrome.

Conduct a continues training and sensitization of these beneficiaries to become violence-free leaders of tomorrow

NPower Batch A & B To Receive Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) Loans

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management Mrs Sadiya Umar Farouk also in charge of social intervention program has confirmed the exit of batch A & B beneficiaries from Npower program.
The exit package is loan from GEEP ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 depending on the performance of beneficiaries in psychometric test which is scheduled to start soon.

NPower Batch C Enrollment To Commence June 26, 2020

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has announced the commencement of enrollment for the batch C N-Power programme effective, June 26, 2020. Sequel to this announcement, below are some guidelines on how to prepare for the application.

The N-Power application portal has been open to all eligible Nigerians since 11:45 pm on June 26, 2020. Applicants are to note that the application process is completely free and there is no application fee.

They are however requested to read and understand all relevant information prior to applying.

Applicants should note the following steps:

This programme is open to only applicants aged 18-35 (This means you must have been born between 1985 and 2002)

Before you go on to apply, ensure you have the following:

A print out or accurate details of your Bank Verification Number (BVN)

A recent passport photograph (1MB) either JPEG or PNG files

Valid contact – Email address or a working phone number

Your Degree certificate and NYSC certificate, if you are a graduate and wish to apply for N-Teach or N-Health

Once the portal re-opens for applications, Log on to www.npower.fmhds.gov.ng

Once you get on the application portal, you will be required to read the terms and conditions of the N-Power programme and accept that all the information provided is truthful and accurate.

Input your valid contact information (Email or Phone number)

The information will redirect you to your email address for confirmation.

Once your email address has been confirmed, fill in your 11-digit BVN and date of birth in the following order (dd/mm/yy), if your BVN details are inaccurate, you will not be permitted to go past this interface.

Bio data and contact page: Fill in your surname, first name, and middle name in identical terms to your BVN information.

Education and Programme page: kindly indicate if you have received education or not.

The N-Power programme is open to all.

The N-Teach and N-Health sub-programmes are however open to only graduates.

(In addition, please note that for N-Power Health, selection preference will be given to holders of Bachelor’s degree, HND, OND in health sciences such as Medicine, Microbiology, Nursing, Public Health, Botany, Midwifery, Psychology or other allied disciplines in the science)

Where applicable, you will be required to upload your degree certificates and NYSC certificate

Employment and other details page: you will be required to answer some questions and upload your government issued Identity Card.

Kindly note that the acceptable Government IDs are: International passport, National ID card issued by NIMC, Valid driver’s license, Permanent voter’s card.

The Ministry had announced last week that Batch A will exit June 30, 2020 and Batch B will exit the programme on July 31, 2020.

The programme since inception has enrolled 500,000 applicants so far. 200,000 applicants were enrolled in Batch A which started in 2016 while 300,000 from Batch B which kick started in August 2018.

The beneficiaries of the N-Power scheme according to the Minister will henceforth serve for less than 24 months.

NPower June Stipends: Sadiya Umar Farouq Approves June Stipend- Rhoda Iliya

N-Power Batch A and B beneficiaries will start receiving their June Stipends within 72 hours, preferable by Friday. GIFMIS To Trigger The Alert Within 72Hours.

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Confirmed this yesterday.

This will be the last stipend paid to Batch A beneficiaries as they exit the programme, the Federal government is transitioning volunteers into a new level of partnership, whose details are not clear as we speak.

We have commenced the transitioning of beneficiaries from Batches A and B into government entrepreneurship schemes and engaging private sector bodies to absorb some of the beneficiaries after the completion of psychometric assessment to determine competency and placement into various opportunities-Sadiya Umar Farouq announced

N-Power Batch B beneficiaries will be eliminated same way by July ending, giving way for Batch C entrance.

Currently, batch C recruitment is ongoing, and 400,000 volunteers will be on-boarded, with the programme already streamlined, the status quo has changed, incoming volunteers will spend only but 12 months and less without devices.
