1) Beneficiaries that have already received the federal government grant should ignore the data capturing message.

2) Beneficiaries that applied for the federal government grant and have done their NIN verification should ignore the data capturing message.

3) Beneficiaries that have close proximity that is are within their local government area but received the data capturing message can go for the data capturing.

4) Applicants yet to receive the federal government grant but stay far away from their local government area can check if they passed the NIN verification process, if they passed the NIN verification process they can ignore the message, but if they failed the NIN verification process they can honour the invitation and go to their local government area for data capturing.

As of the latest update, a significant number of beneficiaries have already received their federal government grant. The target is to reach one million beneficiaries across all seven hundred and seventy four local government areas in Nigeria.

According to Npower News, the federal government grant disbursement process is ongoing, and the list of beneficiaries will continue to be updated regularly on the federal government grant portal until the total number of beneficiaries gets to 1290 per local government area. This means that the chances of being shortlisted as a beneficiary of the federal government grant are still high for applicants who have met the eligibility requirements and have applied for the federal government grant.

The federal government in partnership with the ministry for industry, trade and investment acknowledges the high number of applicants for the federal government grant and assures that the selection process is transparent and without human intervention, based solely on the verification of the National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN).

Applicants should note that the disbursement of the federal government grant is subject to the verification of NIN, which became compulsory after the initial federal government grant application phase. Applicants will be informed if they passed the NIN verification through the federal government grant portal, and the federal government grant disbursement will happen automatically if they pass the NIN verification process.

Npower News On Clarification Of Yesterday's Video On Why The Federal Government Refused To Listen To Beneficiaries Of Npower In Time Past

According to Npower News today, the National Coordinator of Npower in a video online made clarifications concerning yesterday's video, he said he received calls from beneficiaries of Npower saying that why was he blaming beneficiaries of Npower as the cause of their problem and still saying that Npower payment will commence in June, that the Npower national coordinator is contradicting himself. The Npower national coordinator has clarified this by informing beneficiaries of Npower that what he meant was that beneficiaries of Npower were not cooperative and supportive in sharing videos and write-ups.

According to Npower News, the National Coordinator of Npower said that what has taken four years to achieve has taken one to two weeks to achieve positive results, he said yes, Npower payment will start in June and the suspension of Npower will be lifted. Npower News: Why You Are Yet To Receive The Federal Government Grant

According to Npower News, some individuals yet to receive the federal government grant may not have received the federal government grant because of the following reasons below:

A) Previous Payment Of The Federal Government Grant : Applicants that have already received the federal government grant will not receive the federal government grant. 

B) Bank Network Glitches: The federal government grant may have been credited to the beneficiary's bank account, but due to bank network glitches the account balance may not immediately reflect the disbursement. At this point the beneficiary should exercise patience until the glitch is cleared.

3) Local Government Area Coverage: If on checking the federal government grant portal the number of beneficiaries in a local government is 1290 then the applicant in that local government area will not receive the federal government grant.

4) NIN Verification: Last year lots of applicant applied for the federal government grant without providing their NIN, although text messages were sent to applicants to update their NIN lots of applicants failed to update their NIN, applicants that failed NIN verification will not receive the federal government grant.

5) Late Application: Applicants that applied after the deadline of the federal government grant will not receive the federal government grant.

6) Physical Screening: Some applicants were told to come to their local government area for physical screening, applicants who fail to report to their local government area will not receive the local government area.

According to Npower News, all seven hundred and seventy four local government areas across the federation alongside the number of beneficiaries in the local government area have been updated  into the Federal Government Grant Portal. The target of providing federal government grant to 1290 beneficiaries from each of the 774 local government area has not been achieved yet. 

According to Npower News, applicants that applied for the federal government grant before the closing date and yet to receive the federal government grant can check whether or not they will be receiving the federal government grant by visiting the federal government grant portal, to check the applicant should click on view beneficiaries on the federal government grant portal, once the number of beneficiaries in that local government area gets to 1290 then the applicant will not be receiving the federal government grant, but on the contrary once the number of beneficiaries is yet to reach the 1290 target in that local government area, then there is hope of receiving the federal government grant.

According to Npower News 12th May 2024, the National Association of Npower beneficiaries have written to the Presidency on the issues of Npower payment, the open letter reads thus:

"URGENT APPEAL FOR THE ISSUE OF UNPAID NPOWER BENEFICIARIES' OUTSTANDING STIPENDS

The National Association of Npower Beneficiaries stands at a critical juncture, compelled to issue an urgent appeal to the Federal Government regarding the protracted issue of unpaid stipends owed to the beneficiaries of the Npower program. This appeal resonates with the voices of over 1 million university graduates who have diligently contributed to the socio-economic fabric of our nation, only to find themselves ensnared in a web of unmet promises and financial insecurity.

Since the Presidential directive in December 2023, which ostensibly approved the payment of 9 months' outstanding stipends, beneficiaries have been eagerly anticipating the disbursement of their dues. However, despite the passage of time, these payments remain elusive, casting a shadow of uncertainty over the lives of countless individuals who depend on them for sustenance.

In the face of this dire situation, the National Association of Npower Beneficiaries has tirelessly pursued avenues for recourse, exhaustively engaging in social media campaigns, staging protests in the heart of the nation's capital, and striving to initiate dialogue with pertinent stakeholders. Regrettably, these endeavors have yielded little tangible progress, leaving beneficiaries disillusioned and disheartened.

The suspension of the National Social Investment Program, ostensibly intended to streamline operations and address administrative shortcomings, has only served to compound the woes of Npower beneficiaries. Stripped of a vital lifeline, individuals find themselves grappling with financial instability and uncertainty about their future prospects.

Thus, we implore the Federal Government to heed our impassioned plea and take decisive action to address this pressing issue. Specifically, we call upon the authorities to:

Expedite the Payment of Outstanding Stipends: Beneficiaries are owed stipends spanning a period of 9-12 months."

Npower News: ₦50,000 Federal Government Grant To Be Disbursed To Only 1,000,000 Out Of 3,600,000 Applicants

According to Npower News, the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, said the  ₦50,000 federal government grant will be disbursed to only 1,000,000 out of 3,600,000 applicants.

The federal government grant, which commenced March 9, 2024, offers financial grants of ₦50,000 without repayment obligations to eligible small business owners operating in various sectors such as trading, food services, ICT, transportation, creatives, and artisans in the 774 local government areas of the Federation.

It targeted 70% of women and youths, 10% of people with disabilities, and 5% of senior citizens, with the remaining 15% distributed to other demographics.

The ministry for industry, trade and investment in a frequently asked questions and answers on its website said, “Disbursements aren’t based on any specific criteria, but in the order, applications are verified. The goal is to reach an estimated 1,290 beneficiaries per LGA across the country, totalling one million.

“Disbursement is also subject to verification of NIN, which became mandatory after the initial application phase and required only BVN. The selection is random, without human intervention, from those who have passed their NIN and BVN verification.”

Furthermore the ministry for industry, trade and investment also noted that there was not any interference in the disbursement processes because the NIN verification process was a digital one so individuals would not need to be contacted after verification, but the federal government grant disbursements will happen automatically if they passed the NIN verification process.

If everyone who applied will get the federal government grant, the ministry for industry, trade and investment said, “No, of over 3.6 million applicants, only one million will receive the grant. This is the threshold based on the amount budgeted for nano businesses. The verification process for over three million applications has been thorough and therefore time-consuming, conducted in batches to minimize errors.”

According to Npower News, the federal government grant only benefits individuals with nano businesses who wish to expand and be willing to formally register their businesses and employ at least one additional person as their turnover and sales volume increases.

The requirements for the federal government grant includes personal and banking information such as BVN and NIN.

The application for the federal government grant has closed since April 17, and the disbursement of the federal government grant is ongoing and will continue up till the end of May.
