According to Npower News today Sunday 30th June 2024, the Npower National Coordinator through the National Association of Npower Beneficiaries' Facebook handle said that, "Our Exco Members will be mobilized to Abuja, We need at least one representative from each Geo-Politcal Zone to join the National Exco Members and State Chairmen. A Team of at least 40-45 strong comrades will be mobilized to Abuja.

We cannot be ranting on Facebook without actions."

The above statement was made as a result of the Federal Government's lack of listening ears to the request of Npower batch c beneficiaries that are owed 9-12 months stipends. The Federal Government of Nigeria promised to pay beneficiaries of Npower batch c this month June but the beneficiaries of Npower are yet to receive any feedback from the Presidency. 

According to Npower News, as a result of this the beneficiaries of Npower are planning to embark on a peaceful organized demonstration at Abuja so that their voices can be heard by the Federal Government of Nigeria especially in this period of economic hardship.

Q. Why not add the names of the beneficiaries to the total? I viewed some Local Government Areas on the federal government grant portal and only saw the total number of those who benefitted from the federal government grant without their names. It is necessary to add names please so that one can verify.

A. This will be done when the federal government grant disbursement process has been completed.

Q. My concern is to why did you allow up to 4,000,000 persons to apply for the federal government grant when you can just accept 1,000,000 and the federal government portal stops receiving applications.

A. Good question. To buttress what was said earlier, unfortunately not all the federal government grant applications were eligible so we had to ensure there were enough eligible federal government grant applications in order to process them. Secondly, we had to give every applicant a fair chance to apply for the federal government grant which is why the federal government grant portal remained open for so long.

Q. The disbursement process is still ongoing”

A. There is no contradiction. To all applicants of the Federal Government Grant who are yet to be paid. The disbursement process is still ongoing, and we have allocated about 60 percent of the 1,000,000 federal government grant. You can track the number of beneficiaries per LGA paid so far on the federal government grant portal. We are also at the final stages of vetting for the federal government loan. Applications remain open, and disbursement will start by July ending.

Q. How about the federal government loan, I was called to the local government office for biometric capture over two months ago but nothing yet.

A. We are at the final stages of vetting for the Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) and Manufacturing loans otherwise known as the federal government loan. Applications for the federal government loan remain open, and disbursement of the federal government loan will begin by July ending.
