The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially released the names of successful applicants in the ongoing Nigeria Police Recruitment exercise for the enlistment of 50,000 constables into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
Applicants who participated in the recruitment exercise can now visit the npfapplication.psc.gov.ng portal, also known as the Nigeria Police Recruitment Portal, to check whether they have been shortlisted for the next stage of the exercise.
The recruitment process was conducted jointly by the Police Service Commission, the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Character Commission, the Ministry of Police Affairs, State Career and Counselling Departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), with the aim of ensuring a transparent, merit-based and inclusive selection process.
How to Check Your Status on the npfapplication.psc.gov.ng Portal
According to the Police Service Commission, candidates who sat for the recently concluded written examination should log in to the Police Recruitment Portal at npfapplication.psc.gov.ng to verify their application status.
The npfapplication.psc.gov.ng portal became available from 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, allowing applicants to confirm whether they have been selected for the next phase of the NPF Recruitment exercise.
In addition to the online update, shortlisted applicants will receive email and SMS notifications using the contact information provided during registration on the Nigerian Police Recruitment Portal.
Nigeria Police Medical Screening 2026
Candidates whose names appear on the Nigeria Police Recruitment Portal will proceed to the Nigeria Police Medical Screening 2026 stage before they begin training.
The Police Medical Screening will take place at designated Police Training Institutions on dates that will be announced by the Commission. Successful applicants are expected to report as instructed for documentation and medical evaluation.
The Police Medical Screening is compulsory for every shortlisted candidate. Anyone who fails to report within the approved period may lose the opportunity to continue with the recruitment process.
Similarly, applicants who are declared medically unfit during the Police Medical Screening conducted by the Police Medical Team will be disqualified from the exercise.
Documents Required at the Police Portal
Candidates reporting for screening through the Police Portal should come with the following documents:
- Training call-up slip.
- National Identification Number (NIN) slip.
- Bank Verification Number (BVN) slip.
- Original and photocopies of academic certificates.
- Other documents and materials listed on the PSC Portal.
Applicants are advised to regularly visit the PSC Portal, the Nigeria Police Portal, and the NPF Recruitment Portal for additional instructions and updates regarding the recruitment process.
Police Service Commission Urges Successful Candidates to Serve with Integrity
The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) Hashimu Salihu Argungu, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the recruitment of 50,000 police constables to strengthen the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force.
He encouraged the newly shortlisted candidates to see their selection as an opportunity to serve the nation with discipline, professionalism, honesty and dedication.
According to the Commission, increasing the strength of the Nigeria Police Force will improve community policing, enhance public safety and reinforce the country's security framework.
