Npower News Update: Fresh Developments on Npower Payment for February 2026
Here is the latest information regarding Npower Payment and what it means for Npower beneficiaries nationwide.
As of February 2026, discussions around delayed Npower Payment under the Npower programme continue to generate attention. The Minister of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation recently addressed concerns raised by former Npower beneficiaries regarding outstanding Npower payment.
Earlier this month, the Minister publicly acknowledged the growing concerns about Npower Payment. In a video message released last week, the Minister explained that since taking office, he has been working closely with the National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA) to thoroughly review the Npower initiative. According to the Minister, the goal is to identify existing gaps, correct operational weaknesses, and resolve structural issues affecting the smooth delivery of Npower Payment.
In his message to Npower beneficiaries, the Minister emphasized that he understands the frustrations of Npower beneficiaries and assured Npower beneficiaries that their concerns are being taken seriously. The minister revealed that he met with representatives of the Npower beneficiaries to have detailed discussions on the pending Npower Payment.
The Minister further stated that all verified cases relating to delayed Npower Payment will be addressed. Npower beneficiaries whose records and complaints have been properly confirmed are expected to receive their outstanding Npower payment once the review process is concluded.
In addition, he noted that reforms are underway to reposition Npower for long-term sustainability. The restructuring efforts are said to align with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the broader vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The aim is to create clearer transition pathways and exit strategies for beneficiaries while ensuring fairness, integrity, transparency and accountability in future Npower payment.
The Minister concluded by appreciating Npower beneficiaries for their patience and cooperation during this review period.
Despite these assurances, many Npower beneficiaries are still eagerly and anxiously waiting for swift action, especially regarding the clearance of pending Npower payment. The coming weeks will be crucial in determining how quickly the promised Npower Payment will be processed and how these reforms will shape the future of Npower and other government empowerment programmes in Nigeria.
For now, Npower beneficiaries remain hopeful that concrete steps will soon translate into actual Npower payments and lasting improvements within the system.
