Guidelines for NYSC Registration And Mobilization


A. Who is an NYSC Member?


An NYSC (National Youth Service Corp) member is any Nigerian graduate from an accredited, approved or recognized university, monotechnic or polytechnic who has completed the Ordinary National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or a Degree program, and is qualified and eligible for National Service Scheme under the NYSC.


B. Eligibility Requirements for NYSC Mobilization


Before a prospective NYSC member can be mobilized for NYSC, he or she must:

1. Be a Nigerian citizen by birth, naturalization, or registration.

2. Not be older than 30 years of age at the time of graduation, prospective NYSC member who is older than 30 years get an exemption certificate from NYSC.

3. Have graduated from an accredited, recognized or an approved University, Monotechnic or Polytechnic either in Nigeria or abroad.

4. Have completed a full-time or part time program, distance learning graduates get exclusion letters from NYSC.

5. Be certified medically and physically fit.


C. NYSC Registration Requirements 

A Prospective NYSC member will need the following during NYSC registration, both online on the NYSC portal and in the NYSC Camp:


A. For Nigerian-trained graduates


1. Valid School Identity Card

2. Statement of Result or Certificate both original and photocopy 

3. Matriculation Number which must tally with the school records

4. Recent Passport Sized Photograph with preferably with white background

5. Personal Email Address 

6. Phone Number

7. Biometric Data Capture of fingerprints through accredited cyber cafe for NYSC

8. Valid Means of Identification namely:

i) National ID

ii) Voter’s card

iii) Driver’s license

iv) International Passport


B. For Foreign-trained graduates


1. International Passport with visa and entry/exit stamps

2. Original Certificates, not statement of result

3. Transcript of Academic Records

4. O’Level Certificate(s) either WASSCE, NECO, or GCE

5. Evaluation Letter from the Federal Ministry of Education (that is, for foreign degrees/certificates)

6. Medical Fitness Certificate from an accredited, approved and recognized government or military hospital

7. Recent Passport Size Photograph


D. Steps for Registration On NYSC Portal 

The following below are steps for NYSC Registration on the NYSC portal:


1. Prospective NYSC members should visit the official NYSC portal: https://portal.nysc.org.ng or https://saed.nysc.org.ng/login

2. Prospective NYSC members should should click on “Mobilization Batch Registration”


3. Prospective NYSC members should select either:

Fresh Registration (if Prospective NYSC members is new)

Revalidation (if Prospective NYSC members was deployed before but did not complete the NYSC)


4. Prospective NYSC members should fill in their personal details, educational data, and contact address on the NYSC portal 


5. Prospective NYSC members should attach necessary documents and passport photo


6. Prospective NYSC members should complete the biometric fingerprint capturing


7. Prospective NYSC members should make payment for the Call-Up Letter (if the Prospective NYSC members should want to print it online on the NYSC portal)


8. Prospective NYSC members should print their Green Card and NYSC Call-Up Letter once available


E. NYSC Camp Requirements

The following are required from Prospective NYSC member at the NYSC Camp:

1. Original copies of Statement of Result or Certificate

2. Green Card and NYSC Call-Up Letter printed in colour

3. Valid Identity Card

4. Medical Test Certificate

5. 8 to 12 copies of Passport Photographs

6. White round-neck Tee-shirts and shorts

7. White canvas shoes and socks

8. Toiletries, beddings, and mosquito net

9. National ID, BVN printout, and ATM card for allowance purposes


Prospective NYSC members are advised not to register in absentia. Biometrics must match all fingerprints. Prospective NYSC members are not to forge any document, as this will lead to automatic disqualification or prosecution. Prospective NYSC members are to use their correct informations; date of birth and name, once these informations are submitted, NYSC will not be able to change them easily. Married female prospective NYSC members can upload their marriage certificate, change of name, and husband’s domicile proof for deployment to their spouse’s state.


F. Post NYSC Registration

After NYSC registration, prospective NYSC members are to:

1. Wait for NYSC Call-Up Number and Letter

2. Report to their assigned NYSC Orientation Camp

3. Deploy to their NYSC place of primary assignment for a period of one year 

4. At the end of the entire one year NYSC, NYSC members are to collect their NYSC Discharge Certificate
