Npower has been suspended for roughly six weeks, this suspension was as a result of alleged misappropriation of funds in the ministry in charge of Npower, after the investigation must have been concluded then the Npower suspension will be lifted.

Recall that few weeks ago Dr. Betta Edu the ex-minister in charge of Npower was suspended due to misappropriation of over N585million requested to be paid to a private account, although the Accountant General did not honour the request from the minister in charge of Npower. In addition to this Sadiya Umar Farouq was also summoned by EFCC to give her own narrative with respect to Npower payment during her tenure, Halima Shehu the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency was also not left out in the scandal.

Amidst all this scandals President Bola Ahmed Tinubu directed the anti-graft agency to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the alleged misappropriation of funds in the Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, that is the ministry in charge of Npower, during the ongoing investigation the President suspended Npower for six weeks pending the time the investigation will be completed, during this period of Npower suspension, Npower batch c and other Npower beneficiaries are not to expect Npower payment, Npower payment will be made only after the Npower suspension has been lifted.

According to Npower, the six weeks Npower suspension will give birth to a new Npower under the Renewed Hope Job Creation program and this will see to it that Npower beneficiaries get their Npower payment promptly, Npower batch c beneficiaries are implored to exercise patience until the Npower suspension is lifted.

What is Npower Registration?

Npower registration is a process whereby Npower beneficiaries completes an Npower application process by entering informations such as their full names, date of birth, BVN, account number, bank name, and account name during Npower registration Npower beneficiaries might also be required to upload their passport photograph, academic qualifications, means of identification and other documents.

Who Is To Complete The Npower Registration?

Npower registration can be done by both graduates and non graduates provided the Npower beneficiary falls within the age of 18-35 years of age, although the renewed hope job creation program that is the new Npower has stretched the age limit to 40 years.

How To Complete The Npower Registration

Npower registration can be completed by using the Npower portal link https://nsipa.gov.ng, although this Npower portal is yet to be active yet, prospective Npower beneficiaries can apply via the above Npower portal link, the Npower registration and Npower examination is totally free of charge.

When Will Npower Registration Start?

When Npower registration starts it will be announced on all Npower Facebook, Npower Twitter handle and on both the television and radio.

Where Will Npower Registration Be Done?

All Npower registration will be done online through the National Social Investment Programme Agency's website, as soon as the Npower portal becomes active then Npower beneficiaries can apply for Npower registration online.

After the Npower registration, Npower beneficiaries are allowed to take an Npower test, once the Npower test is passed by the Npower beneficiary, the Npower beneficiary is shortlisted for Npower physical verification, after the Npower physical verification the Npower beneficiary is deployed through the Npower portal, the Npower beneficiary will take the deployment letter to the place of primary assignment for acceptance or rejection whichever the case may be, the signed deployment letter is to be uploaded back to the Npower portal, once the acceptance letter is uploaded to the Npower portal then the Npower beneficiary starts receiving payment, should the Npower beneficiary be rejected then the Npower beneficiary should apply for redeployment by uploading the rejection letter on the Npower portal and following the instructions for redeployment on the Npower portal.

During Npower registration all informations supplied by the Npower beneficiary must be correct, failure by the Npower beneficiary to supply the correct information during Npower registration might result to delayed or failed Npower payment and the Npower beneficiary finally exited from Npower.

Npower Stream 2 Payment News Today Thursday January 18th 2024

According to Npower on Npower Stream 2 payment news today Thursday January 18th 2023, Npower batch c will receive their Npower payment in six weeks time, as Npower will resume according to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in roughly six weeks time, investigation is ongoing, both investigation of the misappropriation of funds by the former Minister in charge of Npower Sadiya Umar Farouq and Dr Betta Edu respectively.

According to Npower, Npower batch c should expect their Npower payment anytime from March 2024, this is when Npower and other National Social Investment Programmes will resume fully, Npower batch c beneficiaries have been advised to exercise patience as they await their Npower payment, once the investigation is concluded then Npower batch c beneficiaries will receive their Npower payment, Npower batch c stream 2 will be paid their outstanding nine months stipend after all investigations must have been concluded.

According to Npower, Npower batch c should note that the misappropriation of funds by Dr. Betta Edu was not meant for Npower batch c but for the poor and vulnerable groups, the monies meant for Npower had long been recovered by the ministry in charge of Npower the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation and will be paid to eligible Npower batch c as soon as Npower resumes in roughly six weeks time.

According to Npower, all Npower batch c will receive their Npower payment as long as they are beneficiaries of Npower, Npower batch c that are not part of Npower will not receive their Npower payment, Npower payment is only for verified and validated Npower batch c beneficiaries.

Npower: Permanent Secretary Of The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Holds Second Management Meeting On Npower

According to Npower, the Permanent Secretary, of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Abel O. Enitan, and Directors of the Ministry in charge of Npower hold second management meeting on Wednesday 17th January, 2024, in the conference room of the Permanent Secretary, Federal Secretariat, Abuja to discuss about Npower and other National Social Investment Programme.

Recall that the ex-minister in charge of Npower Dr Betta Edu had earlier said that Npower will be rebranded and restructured to meet its objectives of alleviating poverty in the next five to ten years in Nigeria, the ex-minister also said that the new Npower under the renewed hope job creation will be launched this month, but all this was cut short when the ex-minister was involved in a scandal for misappropriation of funds.

According to Npower, the new Npower program will be launched in six weeks time after all investigations must have been completed and after Npower payment has been paid to Npower batch c, Npower has been suspended for now and will reopen in roughly five weeks from now.

Few days ago President Bola Ahmed Tinubu suspended Npower due to misappropriation of huge sum of funds in the ministry in charge of Npower, the ministry for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, a ministry that was established to eradicate poverty.

According to Npower, some Npower batch c especially from Npower batch c stream 1 have claimed that even the one month stipend being paid out of 9 Months they did not receive a dime, same goes with Npower batch c stream 2 beneficiaries, a lot of Npower batch c are being owed 12months, 9 months, 3 months and some Npower batch c are being owed 1 month.

Npower batch c has pleaded with the President to effect their Npower payment but it seems that the Federal Government has turned a deaf ear to the predicaments of Npower batch c beneficiaries, as a result of this Npower batch c beneficiaries nationwide are planning to embark on a nationwide demonstration so that their voices can be heard.

Npower: AUF Appeals To President Bola Ahmed Tinubu To Reinstate Ex-Minister In Charge Of Npower Dr. Betta Edu

According to Npower, the Arewa United Front (AUF) has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reinstate Dr. Betta Edu, the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (the ex-minister in charge of Npower).

According to Iliya Dalhatu, the spokesperson for the Arewa United Front (AUF) during an interview held in Kaduna, the spokesperson stressed that the former minister in charge of Npower Dr. Betta Edu has not gone against the constitution.
According to Npower, the Arewa United Front (AUF) urges that all investigations against Dr. Betta Edu the ex-minister in charge of Npower be halted, allowing Dr. Betta Edu the ex-minister in charge of Npower to resume her ministerial duties without hindrance.

According to Npower, the spokesperson Iliya Dalhatu further highlights Dr. Betta Edu's dedication and detailed execution of her responsibilities.

Illiya Dalhatu said “It is imperative to acknowledge her diligent efforts in fulfilling her duties as a minister, particularly in her instrumental role in spearheading the National Social Intervention Programme. This program, under Dr. Edu's guidance, has undeniably proven to be immensely beneficial to the citizens of Kaduna and across various regions in the country. Regrettably, due to her suspension, she has been unable to mobilize her team to provide the necessary support and relief to those affected by the blast in Ibadan”.

Npower Latest News On Payment Today

According to Npower latest news on payment today, Npower batch c are to kindly exercise patience until Npower is reopened roughly six weeks from now, npower was suspended in order to allow for a thorough investigation in the Ministry in charge of Npower, the Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. Payment will not start until investigations have been concluded.

Npower: Code Of Conduct Bureau Summons Minister Of Interior Mr Olubunmi Tunji Ojo Over Payment of ₦438,000,000 As Consultancy Fee To A Company Linked To Ex-Minister In Charge Of Npower Dr. Betta Edu

According to Npower News, the Code of Conduct Bureau has summoned the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji Ojo over payment of ₦438,000,000 as consultancy fee to a company linked to him by former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Betta Edu the ex-minister in charge of Npower.

A document exclusively obtained showed that the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) summoned the Minister of Interior Mr Olubunmi Tunji Ojo to appear before it on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) Headquarters, Abuja.

Sequel to this development, the South West Integrity Group have called for the suspension of Minister of Interior Mr Olubunmi Tunji Ojo amidst the scandal.

According to Npower News, the South West Integrity Group urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to suspend the Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, alleging his involvement in a recent contract controversy at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation the ministry in charge of Npower.

According to President Ogunleye Adebowale and Secretary Adeleye Adetutu, the South West Integrity Group affirmed that the minister went against the Constitution of the Federal Republic Nigeria. 

The group stressed their commitment as an anti-corruption body to exposing and eradicating corruption within the political class, presenting a petition highlighting the Interior Minister's alleged misappropriation of public funds and compromised integrity.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Intervention On Npower And Other National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) Commendable — Orioye Benedict Gbayisemore Ex-beneficiary Of Npower

An ex-beneficiary of Npower, Orioye Benedict Gbayisemore, praised the prompt intervention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on the issues surrounding Npower and other National Social Investment Programmes describing it as a noble move by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Orioye Benedict Gbayisemore the ex-beneficiary of Npower, who appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be very decisive and deliberate about alleviating poverty in Nigeria, but called for transparency in Npower and other social investment programme designed to make Nigerian youths independent and employers of labour.

Orioye Benedict Gbayisemore, the ex-beneficiary of Npower noted that Npower is the largest social investment programme in Nigeria and the whole of Africa which has affected every household in Nigeria both the poor, vulnerable and the rich.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had last week constituted a special presidential panel on Npower and other National Social Investment Programmes.

The task before the committee among others is to immediately undertake a comprehensive review and audit of existing financial frameworks and policy guidelines of Npower and the other social investment programmes with a view to implementing a total restructuring of the financial architecture of Npower and other National Social Investment Programmes with detailed modification to procedures guiding the programmes’ implementation moving forward.

Npower: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Sets Up Special Panel To Probe Npower And Other National Social Investment Programmes

President Bola Tinubu has set up a special panel to investigate, Npower and other National Social Investment Programmes, which were under the ex-Minister in charge of Npower Dr. Betta Edu.

The Presidential spokesman, Mr. Ajuri Ngelale, made this in a statement this evening.

According to the statement made by the presidential spokesman, Mr. Ajuri Ngelale, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu tasked the panel anchored by Mr. Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, to carry out a thorough audit of Npower and other social investment programs, which the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier suspended.

“In line to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s six week suspension of the four national social investment programmes under the National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA), President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the establishment of a Special Presidential Panel, which will be headed by the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Honourable Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun.”

“This Special Presidential Panel is tasked with immediately undertaking a comprehensive review and audit of existing financial frameworks and policy guidelines of the social investment programmes with a view to implementing a total re-engineering of the financial architecture of the programmes with detailed modification to procedures guiding the programmes’ implementation moving forward.

“The Special Presidential Panel, which is comprised of ministers representing strategic sectors will ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to the reform effort, and consists of the following members:

(A) Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance – Chairman

(B) Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare – Member

(C) Honourable Minister of Budget and Economic Planning – Member

(D) Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation – Member

(E) Honourable Minister of Communicatons, Innovation and Digital Economy – Member

(F) Honourable Minister of State for Youth – Member

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu anticipates that this Special Presidential Panel will validate the confidence reposed in it by winning back all lost public confidence in these vital programmes over the years by ushering in a new era of operation based on open and accountable governance frameworks that will prove impervious to abuse and incompetence for the exclusive benefit of disadvantaged households and vulnerable groups across our nation.”

Npower To Resume In Six Weeks Time

It is no longer news that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has suspended Npower as result of misappropriation of funds in the ministry and by the former ministers in charge of Npower Sadiya Umar Farouq and Dr Betta Edu, the CEO of the National Social Investment Programme Agency NSIPA was also investigated for misappropriation of funds.

According to Npower, Npower batch c should exercise patience for all investigations to be concluded, after the investigation is completed then Npower will resume in six weeks time under the Renewed Hope Job Creation program, in six weeks time the NSIPA will also be active for registration. Npower batch c should kindly note that the National Social Investment Programme Agency the agency in charge of Npower was established under an Act by the Federal Government and it cannot be scraped, in this vein Npower batch c beneficiaries should exercise patience they will receive their Npower payment.

Npower News: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Suspends Npower, School Feeding And Other National Social Investment Programmes For Six Weeks

According to Npower News, President Bola Tinubu has put on hold all administered Social Investment Programmes, which includes Npower, Conditional Cash Transfer, Home Grown School Feeding Program and other social investment programs by the National Social Investment Programme Agency the agency in charge of Npower.

According to Npower News, the Director Information, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Segun Imohiosen, said "President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's decision was in view of the ongoing investigation of alleged malfeasance in the management of the agency and its programmes.”

“All four programmes managed by the National Social Investment Programme Agency which includes Npower, Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme and Home Grown School Feeding Programme have been put on hold for a period of 6 weeks in the first instance,” the statement read.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has also raised significant concerns regarding operational lapses and improprieties surrounding payments to beneficiaries especially Npower beneficiaries, ”  the Director Information, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Segun Imohiosen said.

According to Npower News, President Bola Tinubu also set up a ministerial panel to carry out a holistic investigation of the agency’s operations to recommend necessary reforms of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA).

During the period of this suspension, all National Social Investment Programme Agency related operations, including but not limited to all distributions, events, payment to Npower beneficiaries and other beneficiaries, collaborations and registrations are now halted.
