Federal Government of Nigeria Starts Payment Of Npower Batch C Nine Months Stipend

According to Npower, the Federal Government of Nigeria, through the ministry in charge of Npower has finally commenced Npower payment of the nine months stipend owed to Npower batch c.

According to Npower, this payment started yesterday Thursday 21st December 2023, and Npower batch c beneficiaries are being credited gradually depending on the Npower batch c beneficiaries' banks, some Npower batch c have confirmed this Npower payment by screenshotting their Npower payment credit alerts on Npower Facebook.

According to Npower, although the Npower payment is ongoing, Npower batch c have been advised to always check their emails, banking app or text messages for their Npower payment.

Recall that Npower batch c of the Npower program were owed Npower payments of nine months from January 2023 to September 2023.

According to Npower on the National Social Investment Programme Agency's Chief Executive Officer Halima hosting new Npower focal persons ahead of renewed hope job creation program, Hajiya Halima Shehu, the National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of National Social Investment Programme Agency which includes Npower, conducted a comprehensive online meeting with all focal persons from the thirty six states of the federation. The online meeting served as an essential preparatory step towards the launching of the new Npower program, in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to Npower, during the online zoom meeting, Hajiya Halima Shehu the Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency which includes Npower, stressed on the important roles these focal persons play in spearheading and coordinating the forthcoming new Npower initiative at the local level.

According to Npower, the online discussions revolved around strategizing and fine-tuning implementation frameworks tailored to each state's unique socio-economic landscape, ensuring the effective roll-out and impactful execution of the new Npower program.

According to Npower, the online meeting acted as a platform for extensive collaboration, enabling the exchange of ideas, best practices, and alignment of strategies among the new Npower program focal persons. Hajiya Halima Shehu reemphasized the National Social Investment Programme Agency's dedication to empowering communities nationwide, highlighting the agency's commitments to enhancing inclusive growth and transforming lives in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's visionary Renewed Hope Agenda which will give birth to the new Npower program under the Renewed Hope Job Creation program.

Npower On Npower Payment In Three Weeks Time (Subject To Confirmation)

According to Npower on Npower payment in three weeks time, there are unconfirmed reports making rounds on the cyberspace that Npower payment to Npower batch c will be made in three weeks time.

According to Npower, the reports claimed that the payment to Npower batch c in three weeks time was said by the Accountant General of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster and Social Development.

According to Npower the report also claimed that during the Npower protest the Senate committee called the minister in charge of Npower Dr. Betta Edu regarding the payment of nine months stipends to Npower batch c beneficiaries and the minister in charge of Npower assured Npower batch c that payment will be made to Npower batch c beneficiaries in three weeks time. The reports claimed that the Senate committee is investigating Npower and the categories of Npower batch c beneficiaries that will receive Npower payment are Npower batch c with their Npower portal or nasims portal displaying shortlisted, preselected or beneficiary. According to Npower, Npower batch c beneficiaries will be paid in 21 days.

Npower On Npower Payment Delay - Director Explains Mopping Up Of Funds

According to Npower on Npower payment delay,  the Director of Finance and Account National Social Investment Programme of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation explained to the committee during the budget defense the mopping up of Npower funds to other Ministries and this had led to the delay in payment of Npower batch c nine months backlogs.

The Director in charge of Npower and other social investment programs disclosed this during the Ministry budget defense. The director in charge of Npower made the following reports to the committee:

A. The funds that were mopped up and gathered from the Social Investment office were actually recurrent.

B. The funds gathered from the social investment office is N127 billion. These funds were made for Npower payments.

C. All Npower batch c stream 1 received 15 months of Npower payments, twelve months for the service year and three months exit package.

D. All Npower batch c stream 2 received three months Npower payment from October to December 2022.

E. Npower batch C stream 2 beneficiaries are owed nine months of stipends from January to September 2023.

F. Eligible Npower batch c beneficiaries are four hundred and forty thousand.

According to Npower, the Ministry probabily left the fund meant for Npower batch c beneficiaries unpaid until the Federal Government mopped up and gathered the money from the Npower Account to other Ministries.

According to Npower, though the Minister in charge of Npower Dr. Betta Edu had earlier stated in one of her interviews that funds has been recovered and Npower batch c beneficiaries of the Npower program will receive Npower payment soon, the Ministry director of finance National Social Investment Programme stated that the ministry is still struggling to get some funds so that they can pay these Npower batch c  beneficiaries their outstanding stipends.

Npower News On Npower Beneficiaries Protest

According to Npower News on Npower Beneficiaries Protest, Npower batch c have complained about the poor turnout of Npower beneficiaries during the Npower protest.

According to Npower, the Npower batch c beneficiary further narrates his experience by saying, " I got to the gate of the government house with my placard. I greeted the policemen and other security agents, and they asked me who I was, I quickly told them the reason why I had come and they asked where are the other Npower batch c beneficiaries, I did not know what to say. So I was asked to leave the premises immediately.

They feel I am an impersonator, How can one person in the name of protest visit the government house? They also see me as an unserious fellow, and with shame, I left the environment".

Some of the Npower batch c protesters in other states narrated similar experiences.

Nonetheless, Npower had earlier promised that they will soon pay Npower batch c their 9 months outstanding stipends. According to Npower, payment glitches are being cleared. 

Npower On New Npower Program The Renewed Hope Job Creation Program And When Npower Payment Will Be Made To Npower Batch C

According to Npower on Renewed Hope Job Creation Program, there is currently no news about the Renewed Hope Job Creation Program. Some Npower batch c have been speculating about the new Npower program under the Renewed Hope Job Creation Program, being active online, but this information is false. The Federal Government of Nigerian through Dr. Betta Edu the Minister in charge of Npower, plans to engage 5 million Nigerian youths over 5 years for this new Npower program known as the Renewed Hope Job Creation Program, but the Federal Government is yet to kick start the program. Npower batch c should be mindful of cloned websites trying to defraud Npower batch c beneficiaries.

According to Npower, the Npower program is being changed at the moment and it is on hold. Nower batch c who wants to apply for the new Npower program will be told when the NSIPA website is fully active.

According to Npower, the new Npower program will be restructured under the following areas highlighted below:

1) Npower Will Be Expanded:  Npower will be expanded to accommodate more Npower beneficiaries under the Renewed Hope Job Creation Program. This was disclosed by the Npower program manager, Dr. Akindele Egbuwalo.

2) New Npower Will Engage Beneficiaries With Higher Age Limit: Nigerian youths up to 40 years old will be able to apply for the new Npower program.

3) New Npower Will See More Nigerian Youths Being Engaged: The new Npower program will engage 5 million Nigerian youths in five years. Every year, 1 million Nigerian youths will have the opportunity to join Npower, both graduates and non-graduates.

4) New Npower Will Have More Programs Introduced: The new Npower program will see the introduction of new programs in education, health, work, farming, technology, fashion, entertainment, and other job skills.

5) New Npower Will Have A New Npower Application Website: The National Social Investment Programmes Application (NSIPA) website https://nsipa.gov.ng will be used for the new Npower application.

Npower On When Payment Will Be Made To Npower Batch C

According to Npower on when payment will be made to Npower batch c, Dr. Betta Edu, the Minister in charge of Npower said in an interview with News Central TV that eligible, verified and validated Npower batch c beneficiaries will receive their payment by January 2024, according to the Minister a new Npower payment structure will be rolled out in December 2023, according to Dr. Betta Edu the minister in charge of Npower, the Federal Government is working to verify and validate all Npower batch c in the Npower program before making payments. Dr. Betta Edu disclosed that some Npower batch c beneficiaries have completed their Npower program but are still in the Npower program claiming it is Nexit package, some Npower batch c beneficiaries do not attend their ppa and expect to receive Npower payment, some Npower batch c beneficiaries attend their ppa and are yet to receive Npower payment, these are all the issues being investigated, once these issues are sorted out then eligible Npower batch c beneficiaries will receive their payment.

Federal Government Condemns Practice Of Npower Consultants, Plans To Create Five Million Jobs

According to Npower, the Federal Government has provided more reasons why it decided to suspend Npower, stating that Npower had ghost Npower batch c beneficiaries, while some of Npower  consultants were currently withholding payment to Npower batch c.

According to Npower, over 1 million Nigerian youths have lost their jobs under Npower following the indefinite suspension of Npower by the Federal Government as announced by Dr. Betta Edu the minister in charge of Npower.

Npower was introduced by President Muhammadu Buhari to address youth unemployment as Npower batch c were paid N30,000 monthly payment.

According to Npower, the National Programme Manager of Npower, Akindele Egbuwalo, stated that Npower had ghost Npower batch c beneficiaries that should be eliminated.

Regarding the consultants of Npower, Akindele Egbuwalo the National Programme Manager of Npower, said, “Preliminary findings of our audit have shown that some consultants of Npower are holding on to Npower batch c beneficiaries’ funds disbursed to them long ago even when their contract ended in March 2023 without any renewal.

“We condemn this practice of the consultants of Npower and will not tolerate it going forward. Work is ongoing to identify those Npower consultants involved, understand why the payments did not get to the final Npower batch c beneficiaries, and recall the funds to pay Npower batch c owed.

“We appeal to Nigerians to understand the rationale behind the temporary suspension and investigation of Npower as we work to restore the nation’s confidence in Npower and for the new Npower under the Renewed Hope Job Creation program to serve Nigerians better. Things have to be properly done for us to move forward.”

According to Npower, Akindele Egbuwalo the National Programme Manager of Npower said the ongoing restructuring and transformation of Npower under the Renewed Hope Job Creation program would also give rise to an expanded programme to reach beneficiaries aged 18-40years of age (the previous age limit was 35 years).

Npower Batch C Will Receive Npower Payment — Dr. Betta Edu Assures Npower Batch C As Federal Government Targets 5 Million Youths In New Npower Scheme

According to Npower, Dr. Betta Edu the minister in charge of Npower says the ministry will ensure that Npower batch c yet to receive Npower payment will be paid.

Dr. Betta Edu, minister in charge of Npower made this statement and was communicated by Akindele Egbuwalo, national programme manager in charge of Npower affairs.

Recall that the minister had announced the indefinite suspension of the Npower due to irregularities in payment to Npower batch c.

According to Npower, Dr. Betta Edu said after the Npower scheme has been restructured, rebranded, a new Npower programme to reach beneficiaries aged 18years - 40years (the previous age limit was 35 years), will be initiated.

This new Npower program will be called the Renewed Hope Job Creation program and will target 5 million beneficiaries in 5 years at a rate of 1 million per year under the graduate and non-graduate stream.

The new Npower program will accommodate some new programmes, in education, health, works, agriculture, technology, fashion, entertainment and other relevant areas of skill acquisition and employability and will kick start by January 2024.

Federal Government To Pay 9 Months Npower Arrears To Npower Batch C From January

According to Npower, the Federal Government has announced its readiness to start the payment of nine months backlogs to Npower batch c who are on Npower starting from January.

According to Npower the main reason for the temporary suspension of Npower was to tackle all issues directly affecting Npower batch c, as a result of the temporary suspension of Npower for thorough investigation, restructuring, rebranding and forensic audit, funds had been recovered from the existing payment service providers and consultants.

According to Npower, plans have been put in place by Npower to start payment of the nine months outstanding stipends to Npower batch c from January 2024. Npower payments will be carried out in batches.

According to Npower, the Npower programme would be continued as the Renewed Hope Job Creation Programme under the supervision of Dr. Betta Edu the current minister in charge of Npower. Npower would be expanded to target 5 million beneficiaries in 5 years, where 1 million youths would be employed each year under the graduate and non-graduate stream of Npower.

Dr. Betta Edu Talks About New Npower Payment Structure For Npower And Npower Batch C Beneficiaries

According to Npower on the new Npower payment structure for paying unpaid Npower batch c, Dr. Betta Edu, the Minister responsible for Npower, made some statements about new changes in Npower and changes in the payment to Npower batch c.

According to Npower, the Federal Government will restructure and rebrand Npower and Npower will be known as the renewed hope job creation program and Npower payment will be made to Npower batch c by January 2024, the new Npower payment plan will be rolled out in December 2023.

According to Npower, the Federal Government is working to verify and validate all Npower batch c before making payments to these Npower batch c beneficiaries.

According to Npower, some Npower batch c have expressed their anger over the delays in payment by Npower and are planning a peaceful demonstration today, but the Federal Government has assured these Npower batch c beneficiaries that they will receive their Npower payment under the new Npower payment structure.

Npower batch c who are no longer in Npower will still get their Npower payment under the new Npower payment system.

According to Npower, Dr. Betta Edu the current Minister in charge of Npower has adopted plans to add more Npower beneficiaries to the Npower correctly, check who these Npower beneficiaries are, and then pay these Npower beneficiaries.

Dr. Betta Edu has advised Npower batch c beneficiaries to exercise patience because the new Npower payment structure will take a little while to be implemented. This new Npower payment structure is expected to start in January 2024.
