N-Power Backlogs: 3 Reasons Why Most N-Power Volunteers Were Not Paid Their Backlogs

The following are some reasons why over 14,000, N-Power Volunteers were not paid their N-Power backlogs

1) The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, the Minister responsible for the N-Power Program, last year directed those affected N-Power Volunteers to report to their various State Focal Persons for verification and re-validation, it seems this directive was not obeyed by most N-Power Batch A and N-Power Batch B volunteers.

2) The directive was given by the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development as part of efforts to resolve unpaid N-Power stipends withheld due to discrepancies in records of the N-Power beneficiaries, which lots of N-Power Volunteers ignored to rectify with their state focal person and respective financial institutions.

3) The Ministry also stated that investigations conducted by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF) following the omission indicated that some N-Power beneficiaries were also getting salaries from other Federal Government Ministries, Departments And Agencies.

N-Power Batch C : 4 Reasons Why You Should Not Retake N-Power Test

Please if you are an N-Power Batch C applicant, and you have taken the test before please do not retake the test again, even if you are getting a prompt to take the test.

Here are reasons why N-Power Batch C applicants should not retake the N-Power test:

1) The N-Power previous test taken successfully has been received at the NASIMS/N-Power Backend database.

2) It is normal for every N-Power Batch C applicant to experience some abnormality on their N-Power portal, especially now that the shortlist collation is ongoing behind the scenes.

3) On Thursday the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management And Social Development the ministry in charge of the N-Power Program, clearly stated that the current stream of N-Power Batch C shortlisting process is at the concluding stage.

4) NASIMS/N-Power has expressly stated that all N-Power Batch C applicants that had initially written the N-Power test should ignore "the retake test" message.

So please I repeat if you are an N-Power Batch C applicant, and you have taken the N-Power test, please kindly ignore the message to retake the N-power test on your portal. 

NASIMS/N-Power had repeatedly warned, implored and advised, N-Power Batch C applicants to ignore the message.

N-Power Batch C: We Are On The Third Phase — Minister

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, the Minister responsible for the N-Power initiative, Honourable Sadiya Umar Farouq, said the ministry's objective and goal was on recruiting young people, (Nigerian youths) to benefit from the 3rd phase of the N-Power scheme.

Sadiya Umar Farouq said majority of the youths have benefited from N-Power in Batches A and B.

Regarding payment issues for exited N-Power volunteers of N-Power Batches A and B the Minister said the Ministry 

“have resolved all N-Power allowances accrued to N-Power Batch A and N-Power Batch B, with the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation; We are now focusing on the third phase of the N-Power Batch C scheme, ”she said.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Sadiya said the Accountant General's Office had paid the N-Power youths' allowances and other allowances owed.

N-Power Batch C: We Have Moved To N-Power Batch C - Minister

Honourable Sadiya Umar Farouq the Minister in charge of the N-Power Programme and other Social Investment Programmes, on Thursday 27th, May 2021, held an official media conference with various news media and journalists.

“Now, we have moved to the N-Power Batch C. Currently, the Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, is about concluding the enrollment of 1,000,000 N-Power Batch-C applicants in two streams of 500,000 N-Power Batch C beneficiaries in the first instance and another 500,000 N-Power Batch C beneficiaries later.

N-Power: We Have Paid All N-Power Beneficiaries – FG

The Federal Government on Thursday said all outstanding payments of the N-Power Batches A and N-Power Batches B beneficiaries have been made.

About 14,000 N-Power beneficiaries of the Batches A and B who were exited last year were not paid their five months allowances.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, last year directed those N-Power volunteers affected to report to their various State Focal Persons for verification and re-validation.

The directive was given by the Minister as part of efforts to resolve unpaid stipends withheld due to discrepancies in records of the N-Power beneficiaries.

The Ministry also stated that investigations conducted by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF) following the omission indicated that some N-Power beneficiaries were also getting salaries from other federal government MDAs.

However, speaking in Abuja during a workshop organised by the ministry on effective media reporting of the humanitarian sector, the minister said: “I do not think we still have the issue of N-Power backlog. We have sorted that out with the office of the Accountant General of the Federation.

“It has been a very tedious process but as at the last count, we have paid all the N-Power beneficiaries after the series of processes.

“Now, we have moved to the N-Power Batch C. Currently, the Ministry is about concluding the enrollment of 1,000,000 N-Power Batch-C applicants in two streams of 500,000 N-Power Batch C beneficiaries in the first instance and another 500,000 N-Power Batch C beneficiaries later.

“For the N-Power Batch A and B, as you are aware, they have exited and they have been put into programme in partnership with the Central Bank of Nigeria for them to be engaged in meaningful employment or trade.”

The Minister also hinted that it will commence the payment of N5,000 each to one million urban workers in the informal sector.

She said: “The Rapid Response Register has been put in place by the Ministry as a shock responsive intervention register specifically targeted at the urban informal workers impacted by the Covid-19 Pandemic.

“One million beneficiaries will receive cash transfers of N5, 000 for six months. A pilot scheme commenced earlier this year with 3,115 beneficiaries in Lagos and Abuja. It will be scaled nationwide.”

On the sensitization of the poor and vulnerable ahead of administering COVID-19 vaccines on them, she said: “We have commenced the sensitization process already; we are working with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency to see that we achieve this. We have started with the workers and we have vaccinated those that are going to the field to sensitize these particular group of people and then we will start administering the vaccine.”

N-Power: N-Power Batch C Included In 2021 Budget, To Commence Soon

N-Power Batch C is already captured in 2021 main budget.

Although this might not be the case for N-Power Batch A and N-Power Batch B, as external loan is imminent to finance the deficit budget to implement the N-EXIT program for the N-Power Batch A and N-Power Batch B exited volunteers.

The 1,000,000 N-Power Batch C scheme would kick off once the Budget for the two tranches/streams of the N-Power Batch C Program is approved by the Senate.

N-Power: N-Power Volunteers Should Participate In The MindtheGap Skill Acquisition Training

All N-Power Batch A, N-Power Batches B as well as N-Power Batches C that recieved  the digital skill acquisition training from MindTheGap has been advised to engage actively in the skill acquisition training as the invite is genuine and authentic.

Although it was not all N-Power Volunteers that received the invited, there is no cause for alarm as the digital training would be conducted in batches.

N-Power Batch C: Captured In 2021 Budget

The incoming N-Power batch C of the N-Power programme will be on-boarded soon.

The Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development recently forwarded her 2021 proposed budget spending plan to the Federal Government last week.

N-Power Batch C first stage of registration started late June 2020, spanned through the month of July, the N-Power first stage of registration officially ended on the first week of August 2020, an additional two weeks was added for prospective N-Power Batch C Volunteers to complete their N-Power registration process.

The NASIMS/N-power test portal came into limelight and more than 6 million registered N-Power volunteers took their test, the final shortlisting is ongoing, only 1,000,000 successful N-Power Batch C Volunteers will be taken in two streams.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq is pleased to conduct a Free, Fair and Credible N-Power recruitment exercise.

N-Power Batches A & B N-EXIT: N-Power Volunteers To Wait A Little Longer As FG Sources Fund - NTA International

Disengaged N-Power Batches A And N-Power Batches B volunteers of the N-Power programme will have no other option but to wait a little longer as the Federal Government sources for Funds to finance the N-EXIT package.

This was revealed on Good Morning Nigeria Show on NTA International, it was clearly stated that, Federal Government is massively sourcing for funds, to finance the N-EXIT CBN loan package for all interested N-Power volunteers.

N-Power Batch C is already captured in 2021 main budget but the funds for N-EXIT program for the N-Power Batches A and N-Power Batches B is in the supplementary budget, which will be financed by external borrowing.

Federal Government Seeks $6.183billion (N2, 343,387, 942,848.00) to finance the 2021 budget deficit.

The disengaged N-Power volunteers and the incoming N-Power Batch C will smile soon as the Federal Government intensifies her effort to boost social spending to reduce unemployment and reduce poverty amongst N-Power youths and Nigerians at large.

The Federal Government is borrowing another $6.183billion (N2, 343,387, 942,848.00) to finance the 2021 budget deficit.

The 2021 budget deficit encompasses items of recurrent expenditures and few capital projects. If this borrowing goes according to plan, Nigeria’s external debt will rise by N33 Trillion.

The budget deficit mostly encompasses the Federal Government's wealth and job creation and poverty elevation programme, if fund is mobilized, more of these programme would surface.

The over 350,000 Survival fund beneficiaries, the 1,000,000 N-Power Batch C applicants, the Nigeria Youth Investment Youth Programme, AGSMEIS programme and many other Federal Government programmes would be more robust when the external loan is secured.

“President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, urged the Senate to approve a new external loan of N2, 343,387, 942,848.00, about $6.183billion, for the Federal Government to finance the 2021 budget deficit.

Apparently, the Federal Government is seeking for funds, to execute the N-EXIT loan for N-Power Batches A and N-Power Batches B volunteers.

N-Power Batch C Stipend: N-Power Applicants Demands ₦50,000

N-Power Batch C applicants have pleaded with the Federal Government to raise the current N-Power monthly stipend from ₦30,000 to ₦50,000 considering the present duration of the N-Power Programme and the high cost of living in the country.

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development had stated that in addition to expanding the number of N-Power Volunteers to 1 million N-Power Volunteers in two streams of 500,000 N-Power beneficiaries in each stream,  the N-Power Batch C Programme has been truncated to 12 months, on a monthly N-Power stipend of ₦30,000.

Following this development, an N-Power Batch C applicant of the N-Power Programme, by the name Victor Okere pleaded with the Federal Government to increase the N-Power monthly stipend to ₦50,000 considering the twelve months duration and high cost and standard of living presently in the country.

The N-Power Batch C applicant emphasised that the cost of living has skyrocketed presently with the cost of food items and other commodities in the market increasing every day.

Speaking on behalf of many of the N-Power Batch C applicants who commended the Federal Government for the expansion of the number of N-Power Batch C N-Power Volunteers to 1 Million N-Power Volunteers, Ngozi Bethel an N-Power Batch C applicant begged the Federal Government to strike a balance between the duration of the N-Power Program and the cost of living with an increase in the monthly N-Power stipend.

This is the second time N-Power Volunteers have called for the increment of the Monthly N-Power stipend of the N-Power Beneficiaries.

In 2019, hope was heightened that increase in the minimum wage of Civil Servants would be bring about an increase in the N-Power Monthly Stipend, but this was far-fetched as this did not materialize.

However, one of the then Anchors of the N-Power Programme and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation and Youth Employment, Mr Afolabi Imoukhuede clarified that the then N-Power beneficiaries should not expect a minimum wage balance on the monthly N-Power stipend, noting that the N-power volunteers were not employees in the Civil Service Commission.
