N-Power Batch C: Captured In 2021 Budget

The incoming N-Power batch C of the N-Power programme will be on-boarded soon.

The Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development recently forwarded her 2021 proposed budget spending plan to the Federal Government last week.

N-Power Batch C first stage of registration started late June 2020, spanned through the month of July, the N-Power first stage of registration officially ended on the first week of August 2020, an additional two weeks was added for prospective N-Power Batch C Volunteers to complete their N-Power registration process.

The NASIMS/N-power test portal came into limelight and more than 6 million registered N-Power volunteers took their test, the final shortlisting is ongoing, only 1,000,000 successful N-Power Batch C Volunteers will be taken in two streams.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq is pleased to conduct a Free, Fair and Credible N-Power recruitment exercise.

In no distant time, further instructions will be made known to all N-Power Batch C apllicants as to the next stage of the N-Power recruitment exercise.

N-Power Batches A & B N-EXIT: N-Power Volunteers To Wait A Little Longer As FG Sources Fund - NTA International

Disengaged N-Power Batches A And N-Power Batches B volunteers of the N-Power programme will have no other option but to wait a little longer as the Federal Government sources for Funds to finance the N-EXIT package.

This was revealed on Good Morning Nigeria Show on NTA International, it was clearly stated that, Federal Government is massively sourcing for funds, to finance the N-EXIT CBN loan package for all interested N-Power volunteers.

N-Power Batch C is already captured in 2021 main budget but the funds for N-EXIT program for the N-Power Batches A and N-Power Batches B is in the supplementary budget, which will be financed by external borrowing.

The disengaged N-Power volunteers and the incoming N-Power Batch C will smile soon as the Federal Government intensifies her effort to boost social spending to reduce unemployment and reduce poverty amongst N-Power youths and Nigerians at large.

The Federal Government is borrowing another $6.183billion (N2, 343,387, 942,848.00) to finance the 2021 budget deficit.

The 2021 budget deficit encompasses items of recurrent expenditures and few capital projects. If this borrowing goes according to plan, Nigeria’s external debt will rise by N33 Trillion.

The budget deficit mostly encompasses the Federal Government's wealth and job creation and poverty elevation programme, if fund is mobilized, more of these programme would surface.

The over 350,000 Survival fund beneficiaries, the 1,000,000 N-Power Batch C applicants, the Nigeria Youth Investment Youth Programme, AGSMEIS programme and many other Federal Government programmes would be more robust when the external loan is secured.

Apparently, the Federal Government is seeking for funds, to execute the N-EXIT loan for N-Power Batches A and N-Power Batches B volunteers.

N-Power Batch C Stipend: N-Power Applicants Demands ₦50,000

N-Power Batch C applicants have pleaded with the Federal Government to raise the current N-Power monthly stipend from ₦30,000 to ₦50,000 considering the present duration of the N-Power Programme and the high cost of living in the country.

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development had stated that in addition to expanding the number of N-Power Volunteers to 1 million N-Power Volunteers in two streams of 500,000 N-Power beneficiaries in each stream,  the N-Power Batch C Programme has been truncated to 12 months, on a monthly N-Power stipend of ₦30,000.

Following this development, an N-Power Batch C applicant of the N-Power Programme, by the name Victor Okere pleaded with the Federal Government to increase the N-Power monthly stipend to ₦50,000 considering the twelve months duration and high cost and standard of living presently in the country.

The N-Power Batch C applicant emphasised that the cost of living has skyrocketed presently with the cost of food items and other commodities in the market increasing every day.

Speaking on behalf of many of the N-Power Batch C applicants who commended the Federal Government for the expansion of the number of N-Power Batch C N-Power Volunteers to 1 Million N-Power Volunteers, Ngozi Bethel an N-Power Batch C applicant begged the Federal Government to strike a balance between the duration of the N-Power Program and the cost of living with an increase in the monthly N-Power stipend.

This is the second time N-Power Volunteers have called for the increment of the Monthly N-Power stipend of the N-Power Beneficiaries.

In 2019, hope was heightened that increase in the minimum wage of Civil Servants would be bring about an increase in the N-Power Monthly Stipend, but this was far-fetched as this did not materialize.

However, one of the then Anchors of the N-Power Programme and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation and Youth Employment, Mr Afolabi Imoukhuede clarified that the then N-Power beneficiaries should not expect a minimum wage balance on the monthly N-Power stipend, noting that the N-power volunteers were not employees in the Civil Service Commission.

Some Ex N-Power Batch A and Batch B beneficiaries are in a state of confusion. 

This is coming amidst an email sent to some exited N-Power volunteers from a Digital Job Training and computer skills development company known as MindTheGap.

At the time of compiling this report, this information still remains "Subject To Confirmation" and not yet valid until the N-Power management releases an official statement through the N-Power official handles.

All N-Power Batch A and B volunteers are advised to always take every information at this period with a pinch of salt.

N-Power Batch A and B volunteers are to carry out underground background check to always verify the authenticity of any information in order not to fall victim a of fraudsters.

N-Power Batch C : Senator Tells N-Power Volunteers To Update N-Power ID

Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita representing Katsina North Senatorial District has taken the bold step to assist N-Power Batch C candidates having issues with their N-Power ID.

He implored the affected N-power candidates, to submit the correct N-Power ID within 24 hours.

But most of the affected N-power Batch C candidates are in between crossroads, as the N-Power portal had been closed few weeks ago.

The N-Power Volunteers have been trying to access the npower portal, all to no avail.

We sincerely hope the N-Power management and the Senator attend to this swiftly.

N-Power Batch C : Purported N-Power List From A Senator (Subject To Confirmation)

There is an N-power purported list in circulation from a particular state urging an N-power beneficiary to update his details within 24 hours.

Going through the N-Power list attached, although the information is not very clear but it appears that the N-Power shortlisting process could be at the final stage.

At this stage NPVN do not want to make any conclusions yet, but we advise all N-Power Batch C prospective volunteers to be at alert and always be observant in order for them not to be left out in the N-Power enrollment process.

N-Power: N-Power Batch A And B Solidifies Strategy Forms New N-Power Group

A new N-Power employment advocacy group, Movement for the Actualization of N-Power Permanency (MANP) has been established by both N-Power Batches A And N-Power Batches B exited N-Power volunteers, imploring the Ministry For Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management And Social Development to immediately commence the process of retaining and employing the exited N-Power volunteers into the various job opportunities in the Civil Service/Ministry.

The newly formed N-Power group said that unlike previous N-Power employment advocacy groups such as the influential G-111 for Permanency, N-Power Enhancement Advocacy Movement (NEAM) and Coalition of N-Power Permanency Campaign Groups (CNPCG) whose agitation activities did not hold water.

The new N-Power group was established to meet the pending demands (N-EXIT loan package, payment issues and employment amid others) of exited N-Power Batches A and N-Power Batches B. 

In a statement signed by the N-Power group’s National Coordinator, Comrade Saviour Onyekwere, its National Public Relations Officer, Joachim Akpata and National Organizing Secretary, Zainab Akintola, the N-Power group urged N-Power volunteers to be prepared for a new form of employment agitation that will induce positive reactions from the Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management And Social Development, as well as other stakeholders.

 

“The need for a new well coordinated N-Power employment agitation group has become necessary. This N-Power group, to be known and addressed as the Movement for the Actualization of N-Power Job Permanency (MANP) is dedicated to only one objective: achieving employment for the hundreds of thousands of N-Power beneficiaries who are currently in a state of dilemma”.

While noting that the N-Power group have completed arrangement to send a powerful high profile delegation to the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management And Social Development, the National Assembly and Ministry of Labour and Employment, the newly formed N-Power group said that the move when executed, will give N-Power volunteers jobs and employment in the Federal Civil Service and other departments in the Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management And Social Development.

“The N-Power group shall in the coming weeks embark on lobbying and advocacy visit to key stakeholders in the Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management And Social Development.

It is our hope that this set of individuals and groups will give voice to our campaign and enhance its actualization”. But where these steps fails, we shall be left with no other option than to embark on a peaceful demonstration to drive home our demands which is to be given job/employment into the mainstream of the Federal Civil Service”, the statement by the N-Power group read.

N-Power: FG Increases Number of N-Power Beneficiaries From 500,000 To 1m, To Lift 100m Out of Poverty

The federal government has increased the number of beneficiaries under the N-power programme from 500,000 to 1,000,000 in efforts designed to actualise its target of taking 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in 10 years.

The Director-General of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Sir Joseph Ari stated this at the graduation ceremony and distribution of start-up packs to beneficiaries of the 2020 National Industrial Skills Development Programme (NISDP), which was conducted by the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) amidst the Covid-19 pandemic as part of our efforts to provide Nigerians with technical skills for job and wealth creation.

Exactly 11, 100 Nigerians mostly youths were trained in Tailoring, Information Technology and Cosmetology.

The ITF boss explained that given the circumstances under which the government undertook the training, “this ceremony we are witnessing today is, therefore, not only an expression of our unyielding desire but also our message to all Nigerians that despite adversity and challenges, we as individuals, organisations and as a country, shall always overcome with the right commitment.”

Ari noted that “going by the report of the survey by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of Q4 of 2020, to the effect that unemployment was still hovering at over 33 per cent while youth unemployment was as high as 44 per cent, it is obvious that more needs to be done.

“What is again very clear is that the efforts of the Federal alone cannot completely solve the problems of poverty and unemployment and the attendant fallouts.

“Indeed, the problems that stare us in the face today require Nigerians to pull together and synergise as institutions of Government, Corporate bodies and Non-Governmental Organisations to fully resolve them” the DG stated.

He said that “under this phase of the NISDP, thousands of Nigerian youths were trained nationwide in three trades namely: Tailoring, Cosmetology and Information and Communication Technology.

“Thousands of others were equally trained in other skills acquisition programmes including the Special Skills Development Programme (SSDP), the Federal Government Skills Empowerment Programme (FEGOSEP), the Info-Tech Skills Empowerment Programme (ISEP) and, the Agri-Preneurship Training Programme (ATP) amongst others.

“This year that we have declared as the Year of Skills Heightening for Prosperity, which also coincides with our 50th Anniversary as an organisation, the Fund has commenced processes for the implementation of another round of skills acquisition programmes across the country. This phase will commence from the 1st week of June this year”.

Ari commended “State Governments, the Organised Private Sector (OPS), Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), corporate bodies and other well-meaning Nigerians that have been committing resources to empower vulnerable Nigerians with skills.

“It is my firm belief that only through such concerted efforts would the problems of poverty and unemployment be tackled.

“It is in this guise that I urge all stakeholders to continue to collaborate with us and take advantage of the Fund’s Expertise, Experience and Expansive network to empower Nigerians and resolve the problems that are steadily threatening our national unity and sovereignty as a Nation” he stated.

“Indeed, before the sad intrusion of the pandemic, most of the pressing problems of the country were being effectively tackled through a raft of Social Investment Programmes while also initiating policies that boosted the performance and productivity of Agencies such as ours. The impact of these programmes served to boost all sectors of the economy and drastically reduced poverty and unemployment.

“Undeterred by the ripple effects of the pandemic that has severely impacted economies across the globe, the Government has persisted with its developmental policies. For instance, in a bid to cushion the adverse effects of the pandemic and address other challenges of the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector, the Government launched the MSMEs Survival Fund that benefitted thousands of operators in the sector.

“The Government also increased the number of beneficiaries under the N-power programme from 500,000 to 1,000,000 amongst other efforts designed to actualise its target of taking 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in 10 years.

“Without the Government’s committed efforts, the unemployment and poverty situation in Nigeria could conceivably have been worse.
