N-POWER VOLUNTEERS TO GET ₦300,000 (Subject To Confirmation)

Contrary to the ongoing rumor that N-Power beneficiaries will only be given a sum of ten thousand naira also a POS machine as their exit package. The Honorable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and disaster management Habits Sadiya Farouq had debunked the rumour. However, she has reaffirmed that some of the beneficiaries will get a sum of three hundred thousand naira (₦300,000) each as an exit package while few will be absorbed into the federal civil service.
Moreover, according to the information gotten from media, the disbursement was supposed to have commenced by February 10, but there was little delay due to inability of some beneficiaries to complete and update of their information on the nexit portal.
As a matter of fact, the source reiterated that a total of seventy five billion naira (75billion naira) has been set aside by the Presidency as exit package grant for N-Power volunteers.
Finally, February ending has been set as the deadline for the disbursement of the grant.

The first program that is SANEF scheme is a project powered by the Central Bank of Nigeria, Deposit Money Banks, Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement Systems, Chattered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Licensed Mobile Money Operators, and Shared Agents with the primary objective of accelerating financial inclusion in Nigeria.

Minister Launch Of An Empowerment Portal In Collaboration With The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Part Of Achievements

It can boldly be said that no administration in the history of Nigeria has been as determined as the President Muhammadu Buhari Administration to leave behind a true legacy of commitment to the poorest and most vulnerable Nigerians. The first demonstration of this commitment manifested itself in the launch of the National Social Investment Programme, which has since 2016 grown to become the largest social welfare programme in Africa.
Another major demonstration of this commitment came in 2019, when the President created the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development (MHDSD). To take charge of this Ministry the President appointed Sadiya Umar Farouq, who was at the time the Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).
Since she was sworn in as Minister overseeing that very vital Ministry on August 21, 2019, Sadiya Umar Farouq has worked hard to translate into reality the President’s vision of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty over the course of ten years.
At the time, nobody knew that the world was entering into a global pandemic that would see the greatest disruption to human existence in many decades, and would put so many lives and economies at great risk. With the benefit of hindsight, the presidential decision to create this Ministry has turned out to be a most apposite and foresighted move.
Since August 2019 the new Ministry has hit the ground running, pursuing its mandate and vision of ‘Service to Humanity’. As a new entity it has faced its teething challenges, but it has continued to rise beyond them. The Ministry is responsible for coordinating all of the humanitarian interventions of the Federal Government of Nigeria, and works with a wide range of stakeholders across the Government and the private sector, including local and international organisations and civil society organisations, to fulfil this mandate.
Under the leadership of Honorable Minister Umar Farouq, the Ministry has taken the Coronavirus pandemic not just as the unexpected challenge that it is, but also as an opportunity to deepen the foundations of the Federal Government’s humanitarian interventions, and to build poverty-alleviation systems that are truly resilient and responsive.
The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has the following agencies under its umbrella: National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), North East Development Commission (NEDC), National Agency for Prohibition and Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD), and the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs).
In addition, there is the National Social Investment Programmes (NSIP), which has the following four components: Home-Grown School Feeding Programme (HGSFP); Job Creation Unit (N-Power); Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT); and the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP).
The newest agency under the oversight of the Ministry is the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD), established following Presidential assent to the establishment Bill by President Buhari in January 2019. It has since fallen upon Minister Sadiya Umar Farouq to operationalise the Commission, which she has successfully done by getting presidential approval for the constitution of the Commission’s inaugural Management Board.
In February 2020, a year ago, the President approved the constitution of a National Humanitarian Coordination Committee (NHCC), co-chaired by Minister Sadiya Umar Farouq, to liaise with law enforcement agencies to ensure improved security and also more efficient coordination of humanitarian interventions especially in the North East of the country. A year later H.M. Sadiya Umar Farouq was appointed by the President as Co-Chairperson (alongside the Minister of Education) of an 18-member Presidential Steering Committee on Alternate School Programme (ASP), established to target Nigeria’s out-of-school children with “an innovative and flexible approach-of-schooling.”
Recent achievements under her watch include the following: the announcement of one million new slots for the next Batch of the N-Power programme (Batch C); the launch of an Empowerment Portal in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), for exiting N-Power beneficiaries in Batches A and B; the rollout of the Federal Government’s Special Cash Grant for Rural Women (125,000 rural women nationwide benefiting from a 20,000 one-off grant); and flag-off of the Rapid Response Register (RRR) which will enable COVID-19 cash transfers to Nigeria’s urban poor. Other milestones include the onboarding of 5,000 independent monitors for the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), as part of efforts to improve transparency of implementation.
Specifically, during the first wave of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Ministry got approval from President Buhari for a 3-month moratorium on all GEEP loans (TraderMoni, MarketMoni, etc). The Ministry also secured presidential approval to Increase the number of GEEP beneficiaries by 1,000,000 and increase the beneficiaries of the Home-Grown School Feeding by 5,000,000.
The Ministry equally oversaw the distribution of tens of thousands of tonnes of food items from the National Strategic Grain Reserves, Nigeria Customs Service, and other sources, and has transparently detailed these interventions on its official website.
Also as part of Covid-19 intervention efforts, the Ministry collaborated with FCT, Ogun and Lagos States, as pilot States for the implementation of a modified version of the National Home Grown School Feeding Programme, involving a “Take Home Ration” given to parents and guardians of benefiting school children.
The work of the Ministry is a national one, every part of the country is being touched and impacted, in line with the President’s vision. And the testimonials keep rolling in. More than 109,000 Batch A and B beneficiaries of the N-Power Programme have gone on to establish thriving small businesses from their stipends. Millions of Nigerians have benefited and are benefiting from grants, loans, relief materials, jobs and other benefits. Nigeria is steadily entrenching an enduring culture of government-driven social welfare and investment, like the developed world.
The journey ahead is no doubt a long one, but it promises to be greatly rewarding and impactful, as Minister Sadiya Umar Farouq works to achieve the Buhari Administration’s vision of creating sustainable and inclusive social systems that promote human dignity in Nigeria.

30,000 EXITED N-POWER VOLUNTEERS GETS FEDERAL GOVERNMENT JOB

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Sabo Nanono, stated this on Monday, that the Federal Government has trained about 73,000 exited N-Power volunteers and 30,000 of them deployed to 774 local government areas as agric enumerators.
This was part of the minister's report on progress in the implementation of the Economic Sustainability Plan, ESP. of the Buhari Administration as Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, presides over a meeting of the Economic Sustainability Committee at the Presidential Villa.
They also reported that under the ESP a total of 5.4million farmers have now been enumerated to get the support under the plan.
He added that “for the enumeration which involved geospatial tagging, almost 73,000 N-Power volunteers were trained and 30,000 of them deployed to 774 Local Government Areas.
For the purposes of funding through the CBN, the minister disclosed that 2.9million of the farmers have had their BVN enrollment validated.
Also, according to him, the clearing of 3,200 hectares of land for farming is ongoing in several States including Edo, Plateau, Ekiti, Cross River, Ogun, Kaduna, Kwara, and Osun States while rural road constructions have reached about 28% completion covering 344km, linking about 500 markets across the country.

N-EXIT: Exited N-Power Volunteers Laments

Exited N-Power volunteers lament over delay on N-EXIT transition plan whose registration started last year 2020 ending, as other applicants struggle to get registered for the N-EXIT Scheme.
Those who are owed backlog payment are also lamenting and waiting anxiously for the ministry in charge to effect payment. According to report, about 140000 exited N-Power volunteers are owed backlogs.

N-power: We’ve Empowered 546,449 – Minister

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, has said that a total of 546,449 youths have benefited from the N-Power initiative. 
Farouq disclosed this yesterday in Abuja during the official flagging off of the N-Creative programme for the Northern zone with 1500 participants.
Represented by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Bashir Alkali, she said, “A total of 544,949 N-Power beneficiaries both graduate and non- graduate have benefitted from the various components of the programme. With the addition of the N-Creative, the number of N-Power beneficiaries have increased to 546,449.”
According to her, “N-Creative is focused on equipping youths with relevant skills and certification to become competent workers, innovators and entrepreneurs prepared for both the domestic and global digital and creative industries.
“The training will enable beneficiaries learn the necessary animation skills sought in storytelling, illustration/ graphic design, post production, script writing and voice acting. At conclusion, the training will upskill 3,000 young Nigerians as developers of world – class animated content for local and global consumption.
“The N-Power programme is a critical part of the National Social Investment Programmes domiciled in the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development (FMHADMSD) and designed to achieve the National objectives of poverty reduction and job creation.
“The N-Power programme is key to helping young Nigerians acquire and develop life-long skills that ensure they become solution providers and entrepreneurs in their communities.
“N-Power has three core segments: N-Power Volunteer Corps – the Graduate programme, N-Power Build – Non graduate programme and N-Power Knowledge – Which is a non-graduate programme and embodies the N-Tech Hardware, N-Tech Software and the N-Creative training programme.”
“The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development is committed to ensuring that the strategic objectives of all the social intervention programs are achieved. Therefore, in order to maintain the highest level of attendance and discipline by our N-Power Creative trainees, training accommodation is compulsory.”
She added that, “during the camp training, each trainee is entitled to a feeding allowance of N900 per beneficiary per day.  Each trainee is also entitled to Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000) monthly stipends for a period of one year.
“In addition, a laptop is provided as a training tool, procured to enable trainees maximize the skills learnt during their stay in the camp and to start off with their vocation.”
Meanwhile, the Programmme Coordinator, Insikak Okon, said the N-CREATIVE participants will be “trained by veterans in the movie industry such as Segu Arinze and others.
“Nigeria Film Commission (NFC), will continue to collaborate with the other MDAs, organized private sector and international development agencies in increasing the employability of our youths through skill acquisition and training.”
One of the participants, Love Elias, said she was very happy to have been given this opportunity to aquire skills that will make her an entrepreneur and employer of labour and not a job seeker anymore.
“I am very happy that I was considered for this training out of the millions that applied. I am enjoying the train and hope to become an entrepreneur, own my own job and train others for free because I got the training for free.”

When N-Power Permanent Volunteers

Below are 5 things that will possibly happen when N-Power Permanent Volunteers:
1) Nigeria economy will improve with the right engagement of volunteers into the various sectors of the economy either via N-EXIT or others to discharge their duties diligently using the experience they have acquired from the N-Power Programme.
2)Unemployment will reduce: If N-Power will be able to engage Volunteers base on their preference, absorb some of the beneficiaries if not all into the various government organization, and then Others be engaged via cbn Empowerment options as prefer by the Volunteers, the unemployment problem in Nigeria will reduce. 4) Crime will reduce: The problem of crime in Nigeria will reduce when most of these beneficiaries are absorbed into the civil service and others to the Nexit option rather than disposing them back into the streets. An idle man is an evil work shop.
5) They will retained their self esteem: N-Power has help many Graduate to regain their self esteem after many years of searching and seeking for employment without any meaningful result of securing a job until they were empowered by N-Power. Now that the Batches A and B have been Exited, letting them go back to the street will make most of them loss their self esteem again which is not good for the society, absorbing most of them into the civil service and other opportunities will help them retained their self esteem thereby creating a good atmosphere in their communities.

N-EXIT: Federal Government Unveils Three Opportunities For N-Power Volunteers

The Federal Government unveils three jobs oppotunities for exited N-Power Volunteers. Beneficiaries of the N-Power initiative who have completed the two-year job programme will now be able to access permanent job opportunities or business prospects in line with the N-Power exit strategy now activated by the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
The opportunities Unveiled by the Federal Government for Exited N-Power Volunteers are:
1) SANEF Agent
2) Agriculture extension agent
3) GEEP loan
Under the plan, 200,000 beneficiaries will be engaged as financial services operators under a Shared Agent Network Expansion Facility (SANEF) scheme operated by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Requirements for the SANEF programme include the N-Power certificate, Bank Verification Number, Bank account number, duly completed agent enrolment form from operator; proof of identity, among other documents. 
Another 30,000 have already been engaged as geospatial experts and enumerators in the Economic Sustainability Plan's Mass Agric programme via (Fmardpace).
While several others will have the option of benefiting from the GEEP micro-enterprise loans.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, confirmed the activation of the Federal Government's exit strategy for Batches A and B of the N-Power scheme at the 4th annual review of the Home Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP).
Plans have been concluded for the transition of the N-Power Batch A and B through the creation of the N-EXIT portal which would allow those who choose to Sign up to access other government empowerment opportunities.

N-EXIT Registration Deadline 10th February (Subject To Confirmation)

Information from unconfirmed source has it that the expected N-EXIT Registration deadline is 10th February 2021. For Applicants yet to activate their email, ensure to fill the N-EXIT email update Google form. This form is basically for email verification.
N-EXIT Applicants who successfully submitted their form but having login issue will be verified and called upon by CBN on the next step.
Applicants are advised to be aware of scammers. The N-EXIT loan disbursement has not commenced yet, do not put in your details on any link asking you to check your N-EXIT loan amount.
Prior to the deadline, ensure to complete your registration on the N-EXIT portal. And if you are still having issue with registration, contact NSIP Support team via the appropriate channels for assistance.
As you await the N-EXIT loan disbursement, all eligible Exited N-Power Volunteers are encouraged to check that they have a Standard Bank account having capacity of receiving minimum of 200,000 naira and above at a time.

N-EXIT: MINISTER HINTS ON TRANSITION PLAN

A Beneficiary Management System is to be introduced by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development to manage payments, address grievances and improve dissemination of information of the federal government's Social Investment Programmes.
The Minister, Sadiya Umar Farouq made this known at the 4th Review of the National Home Grown School Feeding Programme NHGSF held today at NAF Centre Abuja.
She said that the Beneficiary Management System will enhance a unified database of all NSIP beneficiaries and a consolidated register for beneficiary payments as well as create and support legal frameworks to strengthen and sustain the NSIPs amongst others. 
While enumerating action points and recommendations to improve the coordination, administration and implementation of the various Social Investment Programs, Umar Farouq also stated that consistent engagement with stakeholders including Focal Persons and Cluster Program Managers through meetings and other means of information dissemination have commenced among other proposals.
“It is therefore my pleasure to inform you that we have heeded your recommendations and exceeded expectations. Since the programs were transferred, we have had continuous engagements with all State program officials and have assigned desk officers to each of the clusters within the Ministry, whom you have been liaising with for many months. The Ministry is also working with Federal and State MDAs to evolve policies that will support the institutionalisation of the social investment programs.

 
“We have restructured the GEEP program and other NSIPs to align them with our mandate of providing fair focused social inclusion programmes to the vulnerable in Nigeria. In addition, the FCT has been included in the school feeding programme while Kwara State is rounding off its vendor selection process and is expected to commence feeding in the next few months”.
The minister hinted that plans have been concluded for the exit and transition of the N-Power batches A & B through the creation of the N-EXIT portal, which will allow interested beneficiaries to sign up and access other Government empowerment opportunities.
The NHGSFP is to reach an additional 5 million pupils including children in non-conventional educational settings according to a directive by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Consequently, more collaboration with the Nutrition Society of Nigeria and other stakeholders to streamline nutritional guidelines and other critical aspects of the NHGSFP will be stepped up.

 
Earlier, the Special Adviser to the President on NSIPs Dr Mohammed Nasir Mahmoud outlined the problems facing the National Home Grown School Feeding Program.

 
This includes the COVID 19 pandemic, expired MOU Governance, weak Monitoring and Evaluation system Coordination at all levels, Data quality, Compliance with guidelines, Political environment in States and the feasibility of feeding each child at N70 per meal. In his remark, the Technical Adviser to the President and National Coordinator NSIP Dr Umar Bindir noted that absolute poverty was the bane of major problems in the country.
“Absolute poverty has caused recruitment into Insurgency Operations, large pool of school drop outs and school children, kidnapping, banditry, drug addiction, communal challenges, political thuggery and General insecurity and lack of Peace”.
Dr Bindir called on all stakeholders and partners to work hard towards the realization of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in the next 10 years.
In attendance were all the Focal Persons, Programme Managers and nutritionists in the 36 states and Abuja, Directors of the ministry and other partners.

HOW TO FIX N-EXIT EMAIL ADDRESS ISSUES USING TEXT MESSAGE SENT

This update is to give you a clear understanding on how to use the SMS sent to those with N-EXIT portal email address problem to resolve your issues. 
1. You are expected to use the link along with your old non-functional email address to log in to N-EXIT portal and create your profile and if you have already created a profile via the wrong/obsolete email, you are expected to use your old email and the password you set when creating the N-EXIT profile to log in. As you log into N-EXIT profile, you will be allowed to update your records without the email verification using the “update record option".
2. After updating your record/submitting same, you are expected to log in via same wrong email/ your preset pass word. Select the "Edit record" option on N-EXIT profile where you are required to input any new and functional email address of your choice and possibly Correct any error in your name (either spelling error or order of name arrangement) as soon as the update is submitted, the new email will automatically becomes the recognized email address by N-EXIT portal. Your subsequent log in will be done through the new email address but with your earlier pre-set password. All your subsequent communication with for the purpose of N-EXIT will be via the new email address.
Note: Your email may never be corrected or adjust in the npvn portal again as the portal is no longer valid hence replaced by N-EXIT portal.
NPVN portal is meant for N-Power volunteers but you are no longer volunteers but exited N-Power volunteers with a new N-EXIT portal. The old NPVN portal will only be there for reference sake. 
You can set/use any password of your choice in the N-EXIT portal provided you use what will easily remember.
For Applicants having email address problem and have filled the email update form and yet to receive an SMS, try asking your colleagues who has received the SMS to share with you and then follow the process above to see if you can fix your issues.
